Outreach/Clinical Counseling Services

Freedom Counseling Center, Inc provides monthly reports to the case specialist for each consumer referred by the Department of Human Services.  This provides you with clear and straightforward information regarding the progress or regression, level of compliance, and relevant family dynamics of the consumer based on the particular month of service.  Also included are any further recommendations the therapist is making about the consumer, the dates of service, and the number of units utilized for that month, for your reference.  These reports are designed to keep you informed about the consumer's status and to assist you in writing any relevant service plans and court reports for the case.  Additionally, you will receive at least two phone contacts each month from our therapists, regarding each of the consumers you referred, to keep you apprised of any information you need and to ensure that we are fulfilling the expectations you had when you made the decision to refer the consumer to our agency.

Psychological Evaluations

We provide psychological and parenting evaluations that include the following: Clinical Interview; a synopsis of why the client believes they are involved with Children's Protective Services and/or Foster Care; Mental Status Examination; Parenting Questionnaire; and Psychological Testing.  Intellectual testing can also be requested.  All of this information is gathered to generate a complete assessment of one's psychological and parental capacities and functioning; this includes the results of the aforementioned procedures, along with the evaluator's summary and conclusions, diagnostic impressions and recommendations regarding reunification, visitation, and treatment, where relevant.  For a sample parenting and psychological evaluation, please click here.

We offer psychological evaluations for children and adolescents between the ages of 5-18.  These evaluations are similar in methodology: Reason for referral; Clinical Interview; Mental Status Examination; and Testing.  We test for all forms of personality functioning, mental illness, AD/HD, reactive attachment disorder, sensory processing disorder and others.  Our evaluations examine the effects of physical, verbal and/or sexual abuse and also attempt to determine, when relevant, any possible mental injury resulting from the abuse or neglect either alleged or substantiated.  For a sample child/adolescent evaluation, click here.

Finally, we offer employability and/or intellectual assessments that involves the following: Reason for Referral; Clinical Interview; Mental Status Examination; Employability Skills Assessment; Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-III (WAIS III); Bender-Gestalt Test II; Wide Range Achievement Test 3 (WRAT III); and either the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory III or Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory II (MMPI-II).
